Affliction
Yesterday night was something different,
Heard of someone who was in so much pain,
Someone who was mercilessly gripped in chain,
That hardship tale will never get out of my Brain.
Listening to that I tried too hard to not to cry,
But I am a boy so accordingly my cheeks should be dry,
Even if I want to outcry, aptly I have to deny,
Because they said, "Boys don't cry," but "Boys do cry," yes they do cry.
Haunted with some scary memories, she will wake up screaming,
But everyone said that she made it up or she was dreaming.
She could do nothing about that, so she laid down and cried,
All those times when she said she was fine, she lied, yes she lied!
Sometimes she will just sit there and stare at the ceiling,
Calming herself down so she can have an easier time breathing.
Everyone was just messing up with her, helping instead,
With or without them, she thought she would be better off dead.
I still not understood how she smiles so sweetly and charmingly again,
And so effortlessly that it seems to others like nothing was in vain.
She had been through so much, it's amazing she made it through,
World needs more people like her and its damn true.
Rhyme scheme is on point. Very well written!
